Constitution of Project Evaluation Committee (PEC)
for
Integrated Action Oriented
Research, Development and Extension Programme
( IERP)
in the Himalayan Region under the auspices of

Terms of reference |
The PEC will screen individual proposals received on the prescribed format for the Integrated Action Oriented Research, Development and Extension Programme.
While reviewing the research, development and extension programmes the following aspects would be considered by PEC.

The merit and technical contents of the proposal and the need to undertake it. |
![]() |
Organisational aspects of the programme namely whether the project needs to be executed directly or through Institute's network partner in the area. |

Requirements of equipments, manpower and other facilities to ensure optimum utilization of the proposed budgetary inputs. |
![]() |
The progress of the programme through appropriate mechanisms such as progress reports, discussions with P.I., visit of the Institute's core staff, and comments and perceptions of the beneficiaries. |

Preparation, whenever necessary, the documentary state of art reports and other such reports as review of the status of research, the progress made, the gap to be filled and the plan of action for future, identification of specific projects and agency which can execute it. |

Possibilities of multiple agency funding whenever considered necessary to ensure that the objectives of the programme are fulfilled. |

In such cases, whenever the PEC identify the agency the proposed requirements of budget for growth of the programme will also be projected by the committee from year to year. |

The recommendations/decisions of PEC will be reported to GB by the Director for obtaining the directions. |

Tenure of the PEC |
The tenure of the PEC will be three years at a time or until the new PEC is constituted. However, in case, a member fails to attend three consecutive meetings he could be replaced by a new member. The PEC may invite to its meeting specialised inputs whenever considered necessary.
The non-official members of PEC will be eligible to TA/DA as admissible under the rules of the Institute in force from time to time.
